The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Maria the chef made delicious meals every day and Paul provided excellent service at every meal. Our boat driver Walter and Marcelo made every passage on the river safe and delightful. Not to mention they set up a lovely campsite for us on the banks of the river so we could go to the Macaw lick first light. Julie organized it all and was so helpful for all the logistics. Jay our guide was so knowledgeable. We learned so much about the jungle plants and birds. It was awesome! We saw so much wildlife (including over 6 different species of birds at the clay licks) and several Capybaras, Howler monkeys, Caymans, tons of crazy insects and beautiful plants! Our guide was Jair and he was an amazing guide, always giving us interesting facts and patiently answering all of our questions. We brought our family of 4 to Wasai for a two night visit and we wish we could have stayed longer. We were lucky to have Jair guide us through 4 jungle experiences with a night hike, a night boat ride, a tree hike and my favorite- the early morning boat ride to see the Parrots and fish for Piranhas. He was great with our kids and was so knowledgeable about so many things in the jungle. His deep care for our ecosystems is contagious. Julie and the lodge staff were kind and fun, and even included our kids in their evening soccer game. The food was local and presented beautifully with many 3 course meals. Our family cabin was large, clean and contained everything we needed for a special time in the jungle. The bugs weren\u2019t bad in June. After hiking the Inca Trail, it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature in the Peruvian Amazon. The lodge was eco-friendly set in beautiful scenery, had a pool and served fresh and delicious authentic food every day - offersing starters, mains and desserts for every meal. The best! Jair (or J) was our guide and was very knowledgeable about the local wildlife, a super nice guy and lovely to chat to in between nature spotting. J took us on a range of fun and wild adventures, while giving us plenty of time to relax.
