Sandoval lake half day
A complete program which combines the comfort of beautiful lodges with the experience to spend a night camping in the Tambopata National Reserve.
HalfDay
Sandoval Lake
Embark an outboard boat and enjoy a 30 minute journey on the Madre de Dios river, until we reach the Control post of the Tambopata National Reserve. There begins the access trail to Sandoval Lake which is a 3 Km hike to the banks of the lake. During the walk we will be able to observe the great diversity of species of flora of the area and maybe see a troop of monkeys or other animals which live in the Reserve. There we will board a canoe to paddle around the lake enjoying the beauty of the landscape and observing the wildlife, such as kingfishers, herons, macaws, cormorants, monkeys, etc. Hopefully, we may see the giant river otters family that lives there. Then, it is time to begin our return to the Madre de Dios River and enjoy the sunset as we cruise through the river back to Puerto Maldonado.
NOTE: You cannot enter to the reserve with plastic bottles, bring your own sport bottle
