"Peru Volunteer Work Amazon"
Volunteering in Peru is a good opportunity to have a more intense experience in the amazon. If you have 10 days or more to spare, you could take part in our volunteer program, which offers a special daily rate in exchange for volunteer work. We ask you to work for us for four hours a day, where you will be aiding in certain activities; the rest of your time is your own to enjoy bird watching, exploring the local forest trails, relaxing in a hammock or other activities.
Volunteer work in the amazon is varied and can be arranged to suit your particular interests and abilities; no previous experience is necessary. Volunteer projects could include:
|Trail clearing||Painting signs and displays|
|Wildlife Monitoring & Research||Building bridges/ steps/ bird hides|
|Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation||Working on bird / mammal / plant checklists|
Volunteers can assist in all stages of our projects.
Do you have a particular skill to offer? Do you think you can apply this to a volunteer work in the amazon? (e.g. experienced climbers- could you build a tree platform?) Contact us to design your own volunteer project. Volunteering in Peru will help to develop your skills and plans.
Necessary training and supervision is provided
The basic volunteer program rate is of USD400.00 (ten days); this covers your food and accommodation at Wasai Lodge & Expeditions, but does not include transport, guided tours, National Park entrance fees or insurance. If you want you can join with any of our tourist groups for free as a member of the workers staff,.
To get to Wasai Lodge & Expeditions from Puerto Maldonado as a volunteer you can time your arrival to coincide with a Wasai Lodge & Expeditions supply boat trip (contact us).
